Thunderbird's style was completely changed in 1958. Robert McNamara's vision was a four passenger car. He felt his Big Bird would appeal to a different market and he was correct. First year sales of his new design was an impressive 38,000 units sold, twice as many as the first model's best year. So our 1962 Thunderbird had lost its true sports car image but it was replaced with a fun, luxury car feel...complete with everything electrical you might want. The 1962 red Thunderbird convertible has its original interior, radio, and wire spoke wheels. The body has been repainted. It is the same in design as the Roadster, except for the tonneau cover. A superb car for the beginning collector of the most popular 60's line of collector cars.
