~~Antiquities~~

Earings
A discovery of antiquities awaits the prospective buyer in this small, but important, collection assembled by William Haas. Depicted above are three documented pieces from this grouping. Purchased from the respected London Folio Society in the 1970's, the antiquities uncover a wealth of history from the earliest of times.

Anubis
We feature a "Bell Krater" (Companion Red Figure) from the Cumae area, 350-325 B.C., the "Apulian Red Figure," Trefoil-lipped oinochoe decorated with the head of a woman of fashion, 4th century B.C. and a statuette of the jackal-headed "Anubis" wearing a short kilt. There are other items not pictured, but important to the collection, including a Cuneiform Stone, representing the most widely used and historically significant writing system of the ancient Middle East and a Babylonian vase found in the excavations at Kish in Mesopotamia in 1932. The Kish site yielded an array of remains of several cultures, from Neolithic to the Christian Era.
